Here, the G Series is installed as a beautiful corner fireplace.

What is a Vent-Free Fireplace?

The vent free burner, as it sounds, does not require any type of vent system. Rather, it is built  to burn clean and the combustion by-products can flow freely into the room. Safety is the #1 priority as all vent-free burners have an oxygen sensor that is set to turn off the appliance if the oxygen in the room starts to become depleted.

Pros:

  • No heat lost = maximum efficiency. All air is kept within the room, ensuring you will be warm and toasty all winter long.
  • The freedom of no vent allows the homeowner to install this model nearly wherever they please. There is no need for a chimney, so get creative. This burner can be used for a peninsula fireplace install, a 4-sided install, a corner fireplace… the options are endless!
  • Vent-free fireplaces can be easily installed, and there is limited maintenance.

Cons:

  • The vent-free model is not approved in some states, or Canada.  Check your local rules and regulations.

What is a B-Vent (Natural Vent) Fireplace?

The B-vent (or natural vent) natural gas fireplace vents similar to a traditional wood fireplace. It pulls air from within the room for combustion and vents it outside. The vent pipe runs up from the unit and terminates outside the building.

Pros:

  • Although this system does pull air from your home, the amount of air used is usually minimal and does not reduce the quality of air.
  • Less heat may be more advantageous in warmer climates, and all summer long. You can still enjoy the aesthetics and comfort of a burning fireplace, without overheating.

Cons:

  • As with all vented fireplaces, a certain proportion of your heat will be lost through the chimney.
  • Running vent pipe may limit where the burner can be installed in your home.

G Series burners are available in 3 sizes (widths of 40”, 50” or 60”) as drop-in burners or as stand-alone burners with the optional cover. The optional cover is useful for floor level installation as it hides away the controls and burner parts to give a clean, modern look. The G Series, vented or vent free, will give you the custom look you have been searching for without the custom price tag.
